USMA Accreditations
The United States Military Academy is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, which is the accreditation granting unit of the of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
USMA was first accredited by Middle States in 1949 and has been reaccredited each successive decade. The last Middle States accreditation site visit occurred in 1999. About the artwork in the Dean's site banner:
The eagle artwork is taken from the USMA diploma. The wreath and star are cadet achievement awards. The star device (Dean's Award) signifies academic achievement and can be bronze, silver or gold. The wreath device (Superintendent's Award) signifies overall achievement in the academic, physical and military disciplines of cadet training.
The sculpture of the cadet can be seen at an entrance to Thayer Hall, while the archway faded in the background is from a sallyport of Taylor Hall.
